Through My Lens: Land, Memory & Connection
- By Lósi Co.
Photography has become a meaningful way for me to honour my connection to the land, preserve memories, and share the beauty of the places that have shaped who I am. Each photograph carries more than what is seen through the lens. It holds moments of reflection, belonging, and the stories that connect us to our surroundings. Two photographs in particular, A Place of Many Valleys and The River Remembers My Name, reflect why photography is such a personal part of my creative journey.
A Place of Many Valleys
Captured on my traditional territory in the quiet morning light, this photograph holds a deeply personal connection to land, and family. The beauty of the morning felt like a moment of peace and connection during a time of profound change.
The photograph was selected and featured on Global National News.
This is a sacred place within my traditional territory, and its exact location will remain private.
The River Remembers My Name
Every summer, the river calls me home.
These waters have carried our people for thousands of years—holding our stories, our teachings, and the memory of those who came before us. I return because the river remembers.
Photography allows me to hold onto these moments and share a small part of what they mean to me. It is an extension of my creativity, my cultural connection, and my appreciation for the natural world. Whether capturing a landscape, a quiet moment, or a place filled with personal meaning, I hope my photographs encourage others to reflect on their own connections to land, family, and belonging.
